STAFF TRAINING

Each member of staff has a rigorous individual training program. This program includes all statutory training which includes moving and handling, first aid, food hygiene etc. We also provide individual specific needs training as per requirement of individual service user. This could include managing challenging behaviour, catheter care, understanding autism, tissue viability etc.

SERVICE USER ASSESSMENTS AND CARE PLANS

All potential new service users are assessed individually to enable us to meet their needs effectively. This information is then used to formulate a care plan which includes risk assessments, medication information, medical information and service plans to work with the service user to achieve required outcomes and meet needs effectively. 

STAFF RECRUITMENT

Staff are recruited specifically for each service user. A vigorous selection process is used to ensure all safety recruitment requirements are met. Once a shortlist is made the service user and/or family are encouraged to meet and informally interview the potential support workers to ensure they are involved in the selection process. Each service user has their own team of staff which promotes continuity of care and consistency of service users.
